Meredith is an assistant professor of secondary English education at Southern Connecticut State University; her research and teaching interests include anti-racist pedagogy, critical adolescent literacy, pre-service teacher education, and secondary English curriculum. Meredith became interested in breastfeeding, babywearing, and other parenting advocacy work shortly after the birth of her first child in 2008. She has worked as a volunteer babywearing educator and advocate on the local and national level and became a Breastfeeding USA Breastfeeding Counselor in 2014. Meredith is particularly interested in empowering mothers through education and in advocating for local and national policies that improve mothers’ work/life balance. She lives with her husband and four children.
