Our volunteers and Breastfeeding Counselors are at the core of our mission to provide evidence-based breastfeeding information and support. There are currently more than 230 breastfeeding counselors giving support to mothers and babies in one of 40+ chapters across the US and on 3 overseas military installations. Do you know about #GivingTuesday? Started in 2012, it’s a kickoff to the charitable season, when many people focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. This year, on Tuesday, November 28, Breastfeeding USA has a unique and exciting opportunity to participate in #GivingTuesday on Facebook:
First, Facebook will be waiving its processing fees for donations–donating on that day through Facebook means that 100% of your donation will go to Breastfeeding USA!
Second, and most exciting, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is MATCHING all donations given through Facebook on #GivingTuesday, up to $1,000 per fundraiser or donate button and up to $50,000 per charity until their $2 million grant runs out.
