Breastfeeding Counselor Candidate Manager
a. Job Responsibilities:
- Serves as primary email contact for active candidates
- Monitors for hand off from Applicant Support when Education Fee is paid
- Sends initial email to welcome to candidacy and orientation emails
- Responds to questions/concerns from active candidates
- Grades the New Candidate Orientation assignments and enrolls in Module 1 (sends instructions for registering on training site, then enrolls candidate in Module 1 course, and emails her to let her know she is enrolled)
- Monitors tasks associated with candidates transitioning to accredited status
- Changes website user role(s) of newly-accredited Breastfeeding Counselors
- Oversees sending of accreditation certificate
- Maintains frequent and close communication with other workgroup volunteers, as needed
- Make phone calls and sends cease and desist letters for fraudulent use of the Breastfeeding USA name, logo, or likeness
- Steps in to help fulfill any other candidate support duties as needed Member of Education committee & Applications Review Workgroup in Volunteer Support Committee

b. Job Requirements:
- Accredited Breastfeeding Counselor in good standing (Current on Dues and CCARs) or National Volunteer (having completed volunteer orientation)
- Accredited Breastfeeding Counselor
- Ability to lead and motivate people
- Good communication & organizational skills
- Daily access to the Internet

- 5-10 hours per week (varies based on fulfillment of other Candidate Support Positions)
Breastfeeding Counselor Candidate Co-Manager
a. Job Responsibilities:
- Serves as primary email contact for active candidates

- Once a month, emails candidates who have not made minimal progress in the previous month
- Hands non-responsive candidates off to Administrator for on-hold sequence
- Invites new candidates to communication groups
- Trained on Manager duties as a backup
- Compiles progress reports to share with Workgroup Managers
- Checks in with course tutors periodically
- Accredited Breastfeeding Counselor in good standing (Current on Dues and CCARs) or National Volunteer (having completed volunteer orientation)

- 2-5 hours per week
- Updates progress tracker weekly based on recent participants list; regularly backs up tracker
- Monitors active status -- emails candidates to renew membership before advancing, emails candidates to renew education fee each year as needed
- Manages on hold process for candidates
- Accredited Breastfeeding Counselor in good standing (Current on Dues and CCARs) or National Volunteer (having completed volunteer orientation)
- Good communication & organization skills

- Pastes exchanged emails into candidate's online application throughout candidacy
- Maintains relevant categories of "Monthly #s -- candidates" page of BC Applications Tracker
- Assists in record-keeping of Breastfeeding Counselor continuing education credits
- Accredited Breastfeeding Counselor in good standing (Current on Dues and CCARs) or National Volunteer (having completed volunteer orientation)
- Good communication & organization skills

- Reports Directly to the Candidate Support Manager but works closely with the Course Tutor Manager as well
- Assists the Course Tutor Manager and Course Tutors in monitoring Candidates for competency and communication skills
- Monitors discussions for misinformation violations of the BC Candidate Code of Conduct and Ethical Behavior
- Posts engaging links from sources approved by the Course Tutor Manager that strive to extend knowledge, strike up conversation, and thoughtful discussion. Encourage supporting evidence from candidates as often
- Utilize Get Pocket that is shared with the Course Tutors
- Accredited Breastfeeding Counselor in good standing (Current on Dues and CCARs) or National Volunteer (having completed volunteer orientation)
- Good Strong written communication & organizational skills
- Timely responses within the community are imperative. Logging in at least 3 times per week or having set “shifts” when a second Candidate Community Manager is placed
