Education Committee Workgroups Job Descriptions

These Job Descriptions delineate the responsibilities of the various workgroups within the Education Committee. Their are two jobs that work at the committee level, coordinating the work of all the Education Committee workgroups:

Course Instructor Manager

a. Job Responsibilities:

  • Member of Education committee
  • Oversees course Instructors
  • Answers clarifying questions regarding course material from Instructors
  • Makes recommendations on needed changes to course writing manager
  • Ensures instructors are responsive to candidate questions & grading

b. Job Requirements:

  • Accredited Breastfeeding Counselor in good standing (Current on Dues and CCARs) or National Volunteer (having completed volunteer orientation)
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Understands relevant educational material
  • Ability to lead and motivate people

c. Estimated Time Commitment:

  • To be determined

Course Instructor Co-Manager

a. Job Responsibilities:

  • Member of Education committee
  • Oversees course Instructors

b. Job Requirements:

  • Accredited Breastfeeding Counselor in good standing (Current on Dues and CCARs) or National Volunteer (having completed volunteer orientation)
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Understands relevant educational material
  • Ability to lead and motivate people

Module 1 Instructor

a. Job Responsibilities:

  • Respond to questions, provide feedback on, & grades candidate assignments in a timely manner
  • Regularly propose updates on the course materials
  • Share relevant publications in the “Best Resources” section
  • Fosters community with candidates
  • Weekly thought provoking communication with each candidate
  • Module 1 includes 4 lessons containing the below activities
    • 4 Open Discussions
    • 7 Activities
    • 3 Enrichments
  • Information covers
    • Breast Anatomy & Early Lactation
    • Nutrition
    • Components of Breastmilk
    • Medication

    b. Job Requirements:

    • Accredited Breastfeeding Counselor in good standing (Current on Dues and CCARs) or National Volunteer (having completed volunteer orientation)
    • Good organizational skills
    • Ability to articulate and simplify complex information clearly in writing
    • Understands relevant educational material
    • Ability to check email and respond daily

    Module 2 Instructor

    a. Job Responsibilities:

            Course Tutor Floater

            a. Job Responsibilities:

            • Reports Directly to the Course Tutor Manager
            • Assists the Course Tutor Manager with special projects
            • Can fill in for any Course Tutor position to cover as needed due to vacation, illness, leave, or while filling open positions

            b. Job Requirements:

            • Accredited Breastfeeding Counselor in good standing (Current on Dues and CCARs) or National Volunteer (having completed volunteer orientation)
            • Good Strong written communication & organizational skills
