Elections Committee Chair

a. Job Responsibilities:

  • Recruits members of the Election Committee
  • Through communication with the Board Secretary, identifies the specific Board needs and the number of seats available on the Board of Directors
  • Publicizes the open Board of Directors positions and desired qualifications to the Voting Members, and calls for nominations
  • Actively seeks qualified nominations
  • Presents the slate of candidates and their statements to the Voting Members
  • Arranges for ballots to be available to all Voting Members, and for ballots to be cast and counted in a classified manner

b. Job Requirements:

  • Organized; provides written reports to the Board of Directors in a timely manner
  • Communicates effectively in writing
  • Keeps confidential all private information of candidates

c. Estimated Time Commitment:

  • 10-20 hours during election period

Inspector of the Election

a. Job Responsibilities:

  • Receives election ballots and accompanying verification from Voting Members
  • Verifies the validity of paper and electronic ballots and tallies votes
  • Notifies the Board Secretary in writing of the results
  • Maintains the record of the vote for a period of at least one year
  • Addresses any questions concerning the validity of the election outcome

b. Job Requirements:

  • Organized and works in a timely manner to ensure elections results are available at the annual meeting
  • Comfortable working with database software and spreadsheets
  • Access to the Internet

c. Estimated Time Commitment:

  • 10-20 hours during election period
