Member Services Coordinator

a. Job Responsibilities:

  • Works in accordance with Breastfeeding USA financial policies and procedures to protect and secure Breastfeeding USA assets and financial information and members’ personal information, and ensures that team follows policies and procedues
  • Provides estimates for membership fee revenues and member processing expenses for the annual budget
  • Focuses on recruitment and retention of members and follow-up with volunteers whose membership has expired
  • Chairs Member Services Committee and also is a member of the Finance Committee
  • Recruits, supports, and oversees other Member Services Committee staff and volunteers

  • Understands budgets and financial statements

c. Estimated Time Commitment:

  • 2-5 hours per week

Membership Manager

a. Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves as Website/Store Membership Support
  • Serves as Member Database Support
  • Serves as Member Communication Support

c. Estimated Time Commitment:

  • 5 hours per week or more

Website/Store Membership Support

a. Job Responsibilities:

  • Tracks store transactions involving memberships
  • Corrects store transactions as needed (due to website store problems, user confusion, incomplete orders, etc.)
  • Adds transactions that are mailed in with check
  • Transfers store data to member/donor database
  • Coordinates changes with Finance Committee Bookkeeper to ensure that membership transactions are recorded appropriately in the financial reports
  • Welcomes new members by email from store

b. Job Requirements:

  • Member of the Website Committee (with basic editing skills)
  • Follows confidentiality/privacy policy for both Finance and Website Committees
  • Attention to detail

c. Estimated Time Commitment:

  • 2 hours per week

Member Database Support

a. Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains spreadsheet or database of Breastfeeding USA members
  • Reports regularly; interprets data as needed for reports and analysis

b. Job Requirements:

  • Competent with database software and spreadsheets
  • Attention to detail

c. Estimated Time Commitment:

  • 2 hours per week

Member Communication Support

a. Job Responsibilities:

  • Sends acknowledgement letters to members
  • Responds to questions and concerns about membership
  • Sends renewal reminders to members
  • Ensures that timely information about membership issues is communicated via a variety of Breastfeeding USA communication tools

b. Job Requirements:

  • Enjoys customer service and building relationships
  • Good writing skills

c. Estimated Time Commitment:

  • 2 hours per week
