Web Articles Team Member

a. Job Responsibilities:

• Suggests article topics for the website
• Edits and revises submitted articles on Google Docs
• Collaborates on writing articles on Google Docs
• Maintains communication with the Committee

b. Job Requirements:

• Breastfeeding USA member in good standing and an Accredited Breastfeeding Counselor or National Volunteer (volunteer orientation required) with six months experience
• Clear communication skills
• Critiques objectively and gently the writing of others
• Comfortable with receiving and using feedback about her own writing and content
• Internet access
• Excellent command of the written English language
• Excellent command of proper grammar and punctuation
• Able to decipher evidence-based information, and use it to author new bodies of work
• Able to author unbiased, well researched, evidence-based articles with accurate breastfeeding information
• Previous experience authoring breastfeeding articles, advanced comprehension of the principals of lactation
• Able to cite references using APA style

c. Estimated Time Commitment:

• 7-15 hours per week (variable)

Web Articles Manager

a. Job Responsibilities:

• Collects articles from authors
• Organizes topic suggestions from Team Members on relevant breastfeeding issues, and prioritizes the articles needed
• Maintains a record of articles needed, drafts on Google Docs, and finsihed articles that are published to the website
• Posts articles to the Team Members for review
• Communicates with authors regarding articles submitted and suggested revisions
• Decides when an article is ready for publication
• Publishes articles to the website
• Notifies the Website and Web Articles Committees when an article has been posted, a few days before linking it to the website

b. Job Requirements:

• Superior interpersonal communication skills
• Access to and ability to use Google Docs
• Ability to decipher evidence-based information, and ability to use evidence-based information to guide new bodies of work
• Able to create and format web pages using html code

c. Estimated Time Commitment:

• 10-15 hours per week

Web Articles Writer

a. Job Responsibilities:

• Authors and submits evidence-based articles on topics suggested by Team Members
• Communicates with the Web Articles Manager regarding revisions to the articles

b. Job Requirements:

• Clear communication skills
• Comfortable with receiving and using feedback about her own writing and content
• Able to write articles to be read by pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, explaining information to be understood by someone not familiar with principals of lactation

c. Estimated Time Commitment:

• 7-15 hours per week (variable/self-paced)
