Breastfeeding families know this: it’s easier to accomplish your goals with support. In this season of giving, members of our Board of Directors know this too, and so they’ve put their financial support behind Breastfeeding USA and are offering to double your donation.
Why? Because our Breastfeeding Counselors are making a difference in the lives of breastfeeding families. When Rachel Price of Americus, Georgia gave birth to her son 3 years ago there were no prenatal breastfeeding classes in her area. She was determined to get breastfeeding off to a good start, so she did research online and joined support groups on Facebook. And then later, when she met her breastfeeding goals, she decided to change the culture in her community; Rachel became a Breastfeeding USA Counselor. She now teaches a free breastfeeding class monthly and helps with breastfeeding via text, email, and home visit (some up to 25 miles away!). Because Rachel is now a BC, 8-12 more women every month are getting the support Rachel didn’t have.
