1. Introduction

Breastfeeding USA is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to upgrade our current educational platform. This upgrade should include updated instructional content aligned with the latest edition of Counseling the Nursing Mother: A Lactation Consultant’s Guide and current best practices in lactation support and breastfeeding counseling.

This initiative aims to ensure our platform remains a leading resource for lactation consultants, healthcare professionals, and students in the maternal-child health field.

2. Background

Our existing educational platform provides online training and certification resources for Breastfeeding USA Counselors. The current curriculum is based on previous editions of “Counseling the Nursing Mother” and requires an update to align with the most current edition and evidence-based practices in lactation and related fields.

3. Project Scope

The selected vendor will be responsible for:

  • Content Review & Gap Analysis
    • Assess the current educational content.
    • Identify areas requiring updates based on the latest edition of Counseling the Nursing Mother.
  • Content Development
    • Revise and develop new learning modules, quizzes, videos, and case studies reflecting updated knowledge.
    • Ensure content accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and alignment with adult learning principles.
  • Integration with Platform
    • Incorporate the updated content into the existing LMS (Learning Management System) LearnWorlds, or recommend and implement a new LMS, if necessary.
    • Ensure mobile and desktop compatibility.
  • User Experience Enhancements
    • Improve navigation, accessibility, and interactivity.
    • Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.
  • Training & Support
    • Provide administrator training on content updates.
    • Offer technical support for implementation and initial launch.

4. Deliverables

  • Detailed content update plan, including curriculum outline and proposed changes.
  • Updated modules and multimedia content, formatted for online delivery.
  • Final integrated platform with all new content.
  • Documentation, including user manuals and training materials.
  • Timeline with milestones and deliverable deadlines.

5. Proposal Requirements

Proposals must include the following:

  • Company overview and relevant experience.
  • Examples of similar projects completed, especially in healthcare or lactation education.
  • Team qualifications.
  • Proposed approach and methodology.
  • Timeline and key milestones.
  • Detailed cost proposal (itemized).
  • References from at least two prior clients.

6. Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following:

  • Relevant experience and expertise.
  • Quality and clarity of the proposed approach.
  • Ability to meet the timeline.
  • Cost-effectiveness.
  • References and client feedback.

7. Budget
